Gandhinagar, Jan 24: Over 40 children suffering from Thalassemia Major and Blood Cancer took an opportunity to express their wishes at Indian Institute Of Technology Gandhinagar on Sunday (January 23) 2017. Students of IITGN associated with The Wishing Factory, a non-profit initiative, to host the children. The event was a precursor to ‘Blithchron 2017’, the institute’s annual cultural fest which will be held on February 4th and 5th.
Students of IITGN interacted with the children and asked them to share their wishes by sketching it. The children drew bicycles, cellphones, filmstars, Rolls Royce and Bentley. One of the children Ankit Prajapati who is also a fan of Shah Rukh Khan and wishes to meet him also delivered a few dialogues of the Bollywood star.
A student of IITGN Aditi Singh said, “Thalessemia is more often than not accompanied by heavily stunted growth and severe anaemia. This makes life very difficult for its patients. What we are doing is a small initiative towards making a day in their life memorable. As we celebrate Blithchron, we felt that it is our social responsibility to share the happiness and bring smiles to the faces of those who are going through difficult times.”
