Gandhinagar, Jan 7: Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 will see a slew of country-first events that will aim at providing enabling environment and better facility for global investor community, aiming to invest in Gujarat. One of the most proactive, and a first of its kind event in India is the Vibrant Gujarat Action Seminars – a unique set of seminars that engages multiple stakeholders to build policy consensus and value for all.
Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani said, “Seminars like this are geared towards getting industry consensus on policy matters that concern them. More than just debates, these seminars will help us achieve specific action on policy matters, giving stakeholders an opportunity to design solutions that will transform into policies.”
Traditionally governments have produced policies in response to various demands. But the paradigm is changing, as co-authoring of policies is the most appropriate mode of policy making today. Action seminar is the first formal step by the Government of Gujarat in this direction. The seminar is based on the philosophy of engaging broad cross section of stakeholders and making them part of the design conversation rather than to engage only experts. Each of these seminars will bring together 75-100 participants from various walks of life – industry leaders, professional services practitioners, industry leaders, incubators, academicians, people from civil society and government stakeholders – who will deliberate and debate upon various policy initiatives highlighting the motto of “make your own policy.” Each group will be engaged in intense 3-hour long brainstorming sessions in order to create special solutions for critical challenges.
The 3 action seminars in Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 include
- Smart & Livable Cities: Opportunities and Challenges
- Innovation, Startups and Entrepreneurship
- Inclusive Growth (Agriculture and Rural Economy)
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani said, “Ideas that are generated during these intense sessions will eventually be adopted and transformed into meaningful policies delivering real benefits to people. These policies of Gujarat Government will truly be of the people, by the people and for the people.”
The first action seminar – Innovation, Startup and Entrepreneurship – will work towards building a startup ecosystem that further the cause of inclusive development and promote cooperation for sustainable long-term growth not only in the urban areas but rural areas as well and establish a gateway to entrepreneurship in the state.
Action Seminar on Smart and Livable Cities will deliberate upon initiatives and choices that are to be taken to make our cities smart and sustainable, supporting growth and providing opportunities.
Meanwhile, the seminar on inclusive growth (Agriculture and Rural) will discuss steps that need to be taken in order to have an inclusive, well-rounded growth for the agriculture and rural sector and everyone associated with it.
