PRSI – Ahmedabad Chapter, Ahmedabad Sunni Muslim Waqf Committee & Veechar Trust Utensils Museum team up to engage School Children of city in World Heritage Week Celebrations and Interschool Quiz Competition
Bilkulonline.com, Nov 26: Public Relations Society of India – Ahmedabad Chapter, Ahmedabad Sunni Muslim Waqf Committee and Vechaar Trust today announced that World Heritage Week is celebrated all over the world every year from 19th of November to 25th of November by the students of schools and colleges in order to get people aware about the importance of the cultural heritages and its preservation. In order to celebrate the Folklores, Monuments with the main theme of protecting the world heritage sites and it helps to spread the awareness of protecting and respecting the ancient heritage of our country a meaningful event called I love Amdavad – Heritage Vaarta and Quiz – 2018 has been conceptualized.
Heritage Vaarta Quiz would be organized on 2nd December, 2018 at Utensils Museum, Vechaar Trust from 2.30 PM onwards. This Program would celebrate the historical memories and the monumental beauty of this Proud Historic City called Ahmedabad, which also became India’s first Heritage City as announced by UNESCO last year and further ensure that the famous folklores and significant developments which happened in this 608 years old city is spread across to School Children and a strong message should be sent to them to ensure that we should love, preserve, conserve and protect our historical monuments and should understand it’s significance in the pages of history. Around 200 students are expected to be present at the Quiz Program from various known schools of the city. IQue Ideas would be the Knowledge Partners conducting the quiz and The School Post magazine would be spreading the information and knowledge of heritage amongst thousands of School Children across the city.
Subhojit Sen – Secretary, PRSI – Ahmedabad Chapter shared that from 19th November, a campaign called Heritage Vaarta has been initiated in some Key Schools of Ahmedabad and through videos and presentations, and the students have been engaged in Heritage Vaarta. Around 10-15 Schools have been targeted primarily and letters would be sent across to many school principals to engage in the same. Rizwan Kadri, President, Ahmedabad Sunni Muslim Waqf Committee, shared that for many years the members of the committee have done lots of activities to conserve and preserve the monuments and cultural heritage of Ahmedabad and to spread knowledge amongst children and Heritage Vaarta is indeed an exciting initiative. Raju Chavda, General Manager, Vishalla and member of Vechaar Trust and Nurul Khan shared the history of Utensils Museum and it’s journey with Media friends.
Also present at the media briefing were Shashikant Bhagat from PRSI – Ahmedabad Chapter, Sabir bhai and Parvez bhai from Ahemdabad Sunni Muslim Waqf Committee, Pooja from IQue Ideas, Vicas Rajvanshi from The School Post, Ruchi Lalchandani from Ruchi Yoga Studio, Dinesh Kumar from Aarya Communication.
Some Art And Craft activities and Yoga Sessions have also been organized at Vechaar trust on day of the quiz. Some renowned historians are also being invited to share their Vaarta and message with the kids.
