Gandhinagar, March 3: Drone airshows, laboratory tours, 3D printing workshops, are some of the features of this year’s state level technological festival of Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) called ‘IGNITE’. The technological festival which will be held on March 11, 2017 will be taken part by students from various institutes across the state this year.
The airshow of drones at the technological festival will be conducted by professional remote-controlled plane flyers. The flyers will exhibit various stunts such as flying in various formations, aerobatics, toeing banner in the air etc.
The flyers will also demonstrate their skills and knowledge of aerial photography, the genre of photography which has gained much popularity after drones. MTech student and Technical Secretary at IITGN, Akhil Patnaik said, “As the flyers sweep their airborne cameras from strategic angles and methods to get desired shots, the process will be live casted on the Facebook Page of the event ‘IGNITE 3.0’.”
IGNITE 3.0 will also have a Project Expo of national and international scientific projects; poster presentation of award winning journals by students and faculty of IITGN. Close to 40 projects will be displayed at the event. A 3D-printing workshop will also be organized along with the visitors during the day.
The event will also organize a Lab-tour for the visitors. Through prior registration, the visitors can visit the cutting-edge research labs equipped with state-of-the-art instruments.
